Bareboat Sailing – What Is It And What Do I Need To Know?

Bareboat sailing means that the yacht you charter does not have the amenities you would have with a crewed or luxury sailing charter. You don’t necessarily need to have sailing experience as you can have a captain and crew along on these charters as well. If you book a bareboat charter, you have to supply all your own food as well as that of the captain and crew. You will also have to pay these people yourself because that cost is not included in the quote for bareboat sailing yachts.

You can book a bareboat sailing charter in just about any part of the world where there are sailing charters available. You can sail the yacht yourself if you have the necessary qualifications. However, in many parts of the world where there are navigation hazards, such as in the islands of Greece, you may need to have an experienced captain along with you for bareboat sailing. The charter company will supply you with all the navigational charts you need and will give you the instruction you need so that you can have a safe sailing charter.

Have you ever considered bareboat sailing along the coast of Turkey? The yachts available for these sailing charters are well maintained and the budget price will provide you with a cheap vacation. The major cost involved in this type of bareboat sailing charter will be the travel costs associated with getting to Turkey. The cost of living is quite low in this part of the world, so the cost of the bareboat yacht is not expensive at all. In addition, the cost of groceries you need to take with you are also very inexpensive.

Bareboat sailing in Turkey will enable you to charter a yacht that is easy to handle as well as able to accommodate a small family or several couples. The protected bays and inlets along the coast are easy to navigate and will provide you with an exceptional view of Turkish culture. With a bareboat sailing charter in Turkey, you will enjoy sunfilled days, exotic scenery and turquoise waters. There are many itineraries for you to choose from if this type of bareboat charter appeals to you.

Choosing Turkey as your location for bareboat sailing will offer you a stress free holiday. There are no tides, currents or high waves to worry about and there is usually a steady afternoon wind in the summer, which makes for ideal sailing conditions. The temperature of the water is perfect for swimming in the summer, so your bareboat yacht could become your diving platform. When you consider bareboat sailing, there are so many places in the world you can go that you will have a difficult decision to make.

Catch The Ball!

One of the key ingredients for success can be summed up with one simple word—Focus! On what? That’s easy—one thing at a time. You see, in this fast-paced, “multitask” society we live in, it seems we are judged by how many different things we can do all at one time; yet in reality, we can only do one thing well at any given time.

Imagine being on your computer playing music, checking emails, working on a Word document, Excel worksheet, and PowerPoint presentation, and looking up stuff on the Internet. Your system might move pretty slowly. Right? Guess what? The same applies to us. We can do things faster and better, if we focus on only one thing at a time.

To illustrate this point even more, I want to share the following example with you.

It’s 4th down, 12 seconds remain on the clock, and your team is down by 3 points. You are the wide receiver in the biggest football game of your life, and you are called upon to win the game for the home crowd. You line up to begin the final play. The ball is snapped and you run down field.

As the ball is heaved down field in your direction, you feel the anticipation of the event which is about to unfold. You envision it all in your head, step-by-step, move-by-move. You know exactly what is going to happen.

You catch the ball. You tuck it in close with the outside arm to keep from fumbling. You twist left and then right, throwing the defenders off guard. As more people run your way, you spin to the side, and dodge one close call after another, while jumping over the opponents like they are nothing more than simple obstacles.

You soar into the end zone. The gun explodes, ending the game. Your team is victorious. Your teammates rush the field and hoist you up on their shoulders. The crowd goes wild, chanting your name in unison.

Later that night, you are the talk of the town. Everyone wants to have a moment of your time to tell you “great job!” or shake your hand or pat you on the back. This is your time to shine! All the years of training and hard work have paid off. All eyes are on you. You are the man of the hour. Then BAM!

Your mind brings you back to the moment. You were lost in your imagination. You lost focus and redirected your thoughts and energy. The pass is drawing near. You juggle the ball as you start to run for the goal. The ball is never securely in your hands. The ball slides through your hands to the ground. The crowd goes silent in disbelief.

The only thing you hear is a voice inside repeating one of the coach’s basic lessons, “Before you can do anything else, you first need to catch the ball. Until you do that, everything else is pointless.”

Now, let me ask you—did you catch the ball? How many things are you juggling in your life?

Learn to focus on one thing, master it well, and then move on to another. Focus may be the missing ingredient in your recipe for success.

Fitness For Golf Isn’t Just For The Pros

Fitness for golf is a common term on the television these days. I’m sure you’ve heard it a few times. The secret is out. Fitness for golf has come to the forefront of total golf performance.

Golfers have heard it enough. The golf swing is a physically abusive movement to the human body…unless you take the time to prepare for it.

I was watching the Golf Channel (I do that frequently) the other day, with Tiger on. He said it perfectly.

He said, “it would be absurd to think a football player, basketball player or baseball player wouldn’t physically work on his body to play better golf. Why wouldn’t a golfer do the same thing?”

I was sitting there saying, “thank you Tiger”…fitness for golf is here to stay.

If it takes the Number One golfer in the world to convince you…then I’m all for it.

How many times have you walked off the course or practice range with a twinge or two in your body? How about when you got home? Did it get worse?

What’s that tell you?

I hope you realize how important fitness for golf is, in not only helping your prevent injury, but utilize your true potential to it’s fullest.

Doesn’t it make sense to improve your flexibility AND strength to hit longer drives that go straighter? Doesn’t it also make sense to improve your fitness for golf as you get older…to slow down the aging process?

Don’t look at it as “work”, “sweating” or “effort”. Look at it as “playing your best game ever!”

You will continue to hear about fitness for golf, when it comes to performing better golf.

Skateboarding Games

Skateboarding has become so popular to the young at heart since its birth in the 1950s. It has conquered all of the country’s streets and parks. Its popularity doesn’t stop there, it is currently making a buzz in the gaming industry as several skateboarding games make their way to the hearts of millions.

Skateboarding, as we all know, is not for everyone. It requires some level of physical capability to be able to engage in the said activity. The good thing about having all of these skateboarding games is that everyone can enjoy in the wonderful world of skateboarding.

Skateboarding Card Games

When we talk about skateboarding games, these are not limited to virtual games such as those which are offered by gaming consoles. A popular game today amongst skateboarding enthusiasts is “Stoked” which is basically a game of trading cards. Just like any other trading card game, it has a story behind it. The story has a futuristic plot. The area that we know now as South California is referred to in the story as “Sociala” which is a peaceful and quite place. But as we all know, in all societies, there are taboos and deviants. The skateboarders, as represented by the players themselves are these deviants. As you play the game, you acquire new skills and learn new tricks.

It’s really quite and addictive game. But perhaps the best aspect of this game is the visual artwork that was done with the card. The awesome drawings and portrayals make the purchase of several decks of this card game all worth it.

Skateboarding Video Games

Video games have gone to conquer the world. The United States markets are the largest video game markets in the world. It is a multi-billion dollar industry that is also being invaded by skateboarding.

One of the most popular skaters is Tony Hawk, and coincidentally, he has become a household name for video games. Multiple skateboarding games has been released under his name because of his popularity. A company named Activision released the first Tony Hawk-based video game back in 1999. After its successful release, around less than ten Hawk-based games were released.

Online Skateboarding Games

The Internet has become a main portal by which people can have access to information and of course, fun. On-line skateboarding games have gained much popularity because their simplicity makes them so addicting. These are usually flash games which are intended for people who would like to take a break from their tasks, but they end up playing these things the whole afternoon. G-Max’s skateboarding game is one of the most popular today. It features cute graphics and simple game play, however, one can do dozens and dozens of cool tricks with his skateboarder character.

Skateboarding need not be on the streets, it has found ways to be on different platforms such as in card decks and video games. It has also stormed the primary information that is the Internet.

Skateboarding is a widely accepted and appreciated form of sport, recreation and transportation all over the world. It has captured the hearts of everyone, even the non-skateboarders. No matter what form it takes, the game of skateboarding is here to stay. As long as there are skateboarders on the streets, there will be other forms of the game that will be developed.

What Is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

What Is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? It is both a martial art and a combat sport that focuses on grappling in order for you to defeat your opponent submit.

Much of the technique was adapted from kodokan Judo and Jiu Jitsu. Learning how to execute the proper technique enables even a smaller and weaker person to defeat someone who is bigger which is why it is also used in self-defense classes.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu developed early in the 1920’s. But it only gained world recognition when Royce Gracie won the Ultimate Fighting Championship four times after it was established in 1993. As a result, various schools are now teaching this martial art.

In Brazil, there are about 4 of them and each can trace their roots either to either Carlos Gracie or Mitsuyo Maeda.

You can probably say that its popularity as a sport is only second to football as there are competitions held regularly such as the European Championships, Mundials and Pan American that is under the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF).

If you want to excel in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, practice makes perfect and the only way you can do that is through free sparring. This means fighting against a live and resisting opponent under realistic conditions at the same time being careful not to cause any serious injury.

During training and competition, wrestlers are required to wear the Gi. It looks very similar to what you would wear when you practice judo. The only difference is that the outfit has tighter cuffs on both the jacket and pants.

Submission in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is achieved either through chokes or joint locks. Choking as you well know involves constricting the windpipe so the person is not able to breathe. Apart from that, there is also what is known as strangle which constricts the carotid artery. Choking is less efficient than strangles and may cause permanent damage or even death which is why the second is used more often during competition.

As for joint locks which are probably safer, what you are doing is creating a lever with the body position which will force the joint to move past its normal range of motion. This is better known as hyperextension and since there is no way out of it, the opponent has no other recourse but to surrender.

Anyone can learn Jiu Jitsu. As you get better, you are promoted to the next belt class. Beginners start with the white belt and move their way to the red belt. For those who are below 15 years of age, you work your way from white to green belt.

How fast you elevate depends on the amount of time the person puts in and how quickly they learn. To reach the elite class for instance, it takes 10 years or even more.

With Brazilian Jiu Jitsu making its mark in the world scene, you won’t have a hard time finding a gym that is offering classes. The only thing you have to do now is manage your time properly since this is done in a group and you are just one of many that are learning the ropes of this martial art. As a newbie, you don’t have to get a uniform so just come in wearing a lose shirt and pants.

Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Games

Wedding rehearsal dinners are a time to relax, calm down and enjoy a quiet evening before the big event the next day. But adding some fun and games into the rehearsal dinner isn't such a bad idea. It's a great way to help everyone let off some steam, calm down and enjoy each other.

If you're planning a sit-down formal dinner, fun games and activities can still be on the menu. In fact, if a formal dinner is part of the plans, having some interesting activities on the agenda is not only a good idea, but also an excellent one. There's been a lot of planning, and a lot of stress and the wedding party and close friends and family will welcome the opportunity to have a little fun.

The success or failure of any games or activities largely depends not just on the planning but your venue. If you're having a sit-down dinner in a restaurant, try to get a private room. Then a myriad of fun activities can be planned, such as "pin the veil on the bride", in which blindfolded guests spin around a few times, then try to pin the veil on a picture of the bride. Silly, yes, but also fun.

One fun activity sure to help everyone blow off some steam is charades. Whoever is up will act out a scene from the bride or groom's life, so it might be when graduating from college, or getting a huge promotion at work. The "it" person might choose to act out when the bride tripped and fell at another person's wedding or when the groom saved a dog from getting hit by a car. This is a little twist on charades that helps people get to know the bride and groom better, and adds intimacy to what is already an intimate event.

If the wedding rehearsal dinner is a bit less formal and held in someone's home, there are many more activities that can take place. For example, how about a night of playing board games? Who needs formal food? You can have that the next day at the formal wedding. At this rehearsal dinner party, the games are center stage.

Bring in some sandwiches and tell everyone to wear their comfortable clothes and settle in for a night of board games. You can set up games on different tables, divide people into groups of 4 or 5 and have everyone rotate tables at designated times. You can even instruct game players that when they move to another table, the game stays out the way it is. So, for example, dad might begin playing Monopoly where the bride was and he's stuck with only a little money in the bank and no houses on Boardwalk.

So, let's say the bride and groom are big into sports. If the wedding is to be held in the summer and the days are long, how about a game of touch football or baseball? You can play bride's family against groom's family, men against women, or for a twist, the bride plays with the groom's family and the groom with the bride's family. Any combination works. The idea here is to have some fun, relax and enjoy each other's company.

Other outdoor activities can include anything that is physical and might help people blow off steam. Has the bride been more a "bridezilla" than anything? How about a game of tag where she's it? Or you can create two bridesmaid's dress-up trunks. Go to a thrift store, fill the trunks with old prom dresses and large-size shoes, and costume jewelry. Divide the guests into two different teams and have someone sit with a timer. The team who dresses one of the men (ideally, the groom and best man or perhaps the two dads) first wins. Be sure to have a camera at the rehearsal dinner/event, because this is one activity you'll want to have pictures of!

The Health Benefits of Bodybuilding As a Hobby

Human beings tend to get bored, in trying out activities that they have less interest in. It is always very boring to introduce something new especially a routine activity; to many, these new adventures just sucks. Bodybuilding is an avenue that can become of less interest to many since it is very much involving and requires a lot of follow up. Furthermore, in bodybuilding one has to make lots of sacrifices including diets and time spent away from your immediate friends. But how do we make this practice more interesting and something to keep us motivated? This is a question that every one will ask you especially when they feel motivated to venture in bodybuilding.

One thing you have to do is to always and constantly keep in mind that after the bodybuilding process, there is a worth-while and a well pay-off that lies ahead; and that a new and healthy body that is strong and fit is soon going to emerge. It is important to note that effective and consistent form of exercise will greatly improve the body health and required fitness; in addition, it will improve the body appearance, social interactions, and energy level. With all these in mind do not forget the psychological benefits that are accompanied to it as well, this including self-esteem, confidence, and total relief from anxiety, stress and depression.

Health is very important in life, it is what makes us live and good body health is always connected to body building, they have a great coloration. If some one is really serious on his/her health, he/she will immediately take an instant action and as soon as possible begin to exercise, and undoubtedly he/she will benefit fully in these distinct ways. As you progress results and this time better ones show up, they will continue motivating you to continue. In fact, very few people will leave the bodybuilding practice after they start, not because it is addictive but due to what they already seem to have achieved.

In bodybuilding just like any other profession, goals are quite important to set. These goals help one to have a vision that he/she is hoping to achieve and hence motivate some one in continuing with the activity/practice. The goals in bodybuilding, helps one to keep focus in the workout program which acts like the vision of any serious bodybuilder. Usually, they clarify what someone is about to achieve. In the process, as you attain the goals, one gains encouragement to further keep him/her motivated.

In everything you try, do not feel like it's a pressure from someone you are trying to impress. Make bodybuilding a choice of your own and let it come from the heart, otherwise it can only seem to stress you if you have no motivation at all. Do not forget that many bodybuilders venture in this field because they chose to follow it in their career and if you are willing to join them, then make it an individual choice.

Understanding the Exercise Physiology of Bodybuilding

The way that exercises aid and perfect bodybuilding is something that is not that clear in the life of many bodybuilders. Body building exercises transform the physical structure and functions of the human anatomy. Exercise physiology constitutes studying such topics as the human body's energy transfer processes, human body's energy expenditure and the critical evaluation of the human body's energy production abilities. Advanced studies in exercise physiology also evaluates the environmental effects on the human body physiology, the pulmonary system, the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system, the cardiovascular system, the ergogenic aids and the endocrine system which essentially entails studying hormone typology and concentration ratios.

Exercise Physiology by itself requires very diverse and deep knowledge of the human physique. It specializes in considering how the various reciprocal physiologic responses of the human body are prompted by body building exercises. Exercise physiology studies to body building also studies the converse interaction of these elements of the human physiology and also considers the adopted training methods and equipments used in body building workouts. Contemporary exercise physiologists specialize in clinical areas of the human body like cardiac rehabilitation, exercise testing and comparative analysis of prescriptions used by body builders, performance in different altitudes, researching body reaction to exercise especially as concerns relationships between performance and heat stress, fluid balance, motor functions during and after workouts, intracellular lactate mechanisms and plasticity of fibers located in body muscles.

Some researchers are even going into development and design of physical fitness training programs aimed at enabling prevention of common diseases and structural disability. Exercise physiology has picked up very well around the world. Exercise physiologists are highly paid specialists who are not only qualified in their area of specialization, but who understand the practice of body building inside out. Many exercise physiologists are professionals who originate more often from within the prestigious field of exercise science and who specialize in either physical fitness or general body health or exercise rehabilitation streams.

This has apparently indicated where the future of body building is headed, at least in terms of understanding how workouts are responded to by the human body. It is also apparent that exercise physiologists are critical and ideally suited to provide personalized professional advice for a body builder. Such advice may be about exercise as a successful treatment strategy especially in physical rehabilitation and also exercise as a valid preventative strategy used for preventing known diseases. More importantly for body builders however, the advice may constitute means of work hardening to establish and sustain functional muscles. Immense numbers of bodybuilders are therefore more informed about their own physiology than anywhere else in the world.

This has been a motivation to bodybuilders and a reason why body building is a favorite sport among all the people of all races. As body building becomes a household name in all spheres of the global village, specialized knowledge especially in the crucial area of physical conditioning, mobilization and rehabilitation of the human body has greatly increased. The body building fraternity has attracted a modern evolution of exercise physiology specialists in the diverse distinct fields.

Football Tactics and Techniques to Enhance Winning Strategy

There are many skills and tact's involved in effective game play. To dominate a game, you need to get aware of tackling and when to utilize offensive and defensive skills. It's about all your performance and skills, which leads to a good game and winning too. To have a good "strategy of winning game" should be from inside and every football players become selfish when they reach near the goal post.

Watch the game of Cristiano Ronaldo, the immediate best players in the world; his moves are so fast but with complete domination over football tactics and techniques. If you have imagined yourself as next Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Alex Fergusson, that means you are really involved in football playing, every player should have a dream. Teams are always aim to retain domination on the ball over a longer time and by this process of control the ball through passing in between, keep low risk of loosing the ball. And using of this technique always demands of player's tactics of ball control and exact passing.

Football tactics and techniques are linked with counter attacking football rather to control football, players should spend very little time with the ball before passing and this is achieved by frequent passing of each player with one or few touches. Direct passing is sometimes connected with long distance passing. To pass towards a player without any notice and receiving properly is also a effectual technique for the team.

There are many football tactics and techniques which should be understood, practiced, to get the real effect. Internet helps you to know much about right techniques. But by practical experiences on the field you can get a the help of coach which is real beneficial.

Origins - The History of Football

Everyone has a favorite sport, but not many are aware of the history behind their favorite one. In this series we try to present history of some of the major sports in the world. We will continue from our previous article. Today we cover a game which has captured America's imagination: Football.

Many might find it hard to believe but the history of American football is rooted in the European football or "soccer" as it is popular called. The roots can be traced to rugby football or association football both of which were varieties of football where the ball is kicked at a goal and/or run over the line.

"Father of American Football" was Walter Camp who introduced several rule changes which led to American Football being divergent from the rugby football. These included "line of scrimmage" and "down and distance" rules.

During the early 20th centuries, gameplay developed by several collage coaches (those including Glenn Warner, Eddie Cochems et al) helped take advantage of the "forward pass" rule.

Collegiate football over the course of time became popular and dominant version of the sports. The bowl games organized as a part of college tradition attracted national interest. Given the fierce rivalries college football has become quite the popular sport in America.

Arguably, the first professional footballer was William "Pudge" Heffelfinger's,who was paid $500 to represent Allegheny Athletic Association against Pittsburgh Athletic Club.

NFL (National Football League) was formed as American Professional Football Association in 1920. The name change came in 1922.

"The Greatest Game Ever Played" is said to be the reason for the rising popularity in football. This game was NFL championship game of 1958 between Baltimore Colts and the New York Giants. This was the first ever NFL game to go in to sudden death over time.

AFL (America Football League) a rival of NFL started in 1960. Both leagues merged in 1969 which led to creation of the Superbowl.

Superbowl is designed as a game between the champions of both the leagues/conferences. It is the most watched TV event in America.
