Firstly you must understand the two main factors in improving your jumpiong ability is to increase your overall strength and quickness. The amount of strength you can generate multiplied by how fast you can generate it is equal to the amount of upward propulsion you will create. Therefore increasing strength and quickness together will allow you to explode into the air higher than you ever thought possible?
Now for the main part you want to increase strength in your leg muscles so you can easily launch up off the ground. A couple of the best excersie to help you jump higher would be doing squats, calf raises, leg press and hamstring curls. Create a workout plan which has all these leg excersies in it and you should notice some major improvements inn your leg strength. Oh yeah and also add the Deadlift to help build your lower back and hips.
For the quickness part I will give you another couple of exercise which will significantly help out. One easy way to increase the quickness and snap in your legs is to jump off a chair using one leg, propelling yourself forward as jump in the air, switch legs when you come down and repeat for the other leg, do around 3 sets of 10. 25-50 yard full speed sprints are another great exercise for increasing overall quickness and speed related to jumping power.
You should also strengthen your toes as your toes add the final touches and help you launch into the air. To strengthen them, simple walk around on your tip-toes for around 30 mins, it will be a bit of a mission at first but you'll get the hang of it after a while. You should also stand on your toes for 30-60 secs at a time.
These are just some easy exercises to jump higher thaqt you can do in the comfort of your own home at any time, they should really help increase your overall vertical.
